Description |
Brass plate for a gasoline engine patented by George Selden on November 5, 1895. Selden sold the rights to this patent to the Winton Company which formed a cartel with 30 other auto makers. Only those who were members could produce the engine. Some of the companies included Packard, Olds, and George N. Pierce. Plate is embossed and measures 1 ½ X 3 inches. Serial # 234709. Has mounting holes in all four corners. Excellent condition. Location: Museum storage or display. |
